Monday marked the one year anniversary of the passing of Mother Angelica. Yesterday, the Vatican held a special Mass in remembrance of the Foundress of EWTN.
Mother Angelica changed the way of Evangelization by using the digital waves to reach hundreds of thousands of people at a time. In an interview with the Catholic News Agency on March 27, Archbishop Rino Fisichella said, “Before John Paul II spoke of the New Evangelization, (Mother Angelica) was able to do it concretely with television, the new way of communicating the Word of God.”
Archbishop Fisichella was the celebrant of the Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica, in Rome.
